Jason H. Freskos, President
As President of Sequoia Mortgage Capital, Mr. Freskos is responsible for the daily operations of the firm, and is also instrumental in driving the strategic initiatives of the company. Additionally Mr. Freskos is actively involved in the underwriting and due diligence processes and often personally inspects the properties Sequoia lends on.
Mr. Freskos is a second-generation mortgage banker and graduated from San Francisco State University in 1993 with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Finance, Banking, and Real Estate. In 1994 he became a licensed California Real Estate Broker and began originating loans. He has since originated loans totaling over 500 million dollars. Mr. Freskos is also an active trust deed and real estate investor that owns income properties throughout California.
Mr. Freskos is currently the Co-Chair of the Education Committee of the California Mortgage Association, California’s private-lending industry association, and is personally charged with educating the members of the association. He is a prior board member of the Marin Education Fund, a non-profit dedicated to helping children afford and achieve post-secondary education. He is also a member of the San Francisco Yacht Club and is the owner of the yacht, Lazy Lightning. He enjoys sailing with his family in the waters of the San Francisco Bay and beyond and is also an avid outdoorsman and lover of live music.
Robert M. Petersen, Executive Vice-President
As Executive Vice President, Mr. Petersen is responsible for directing the staff in carrying out the strategic initiatives of the company. He also serves on the Board of Directors and is instrumental in all aspects of lending.
Mr. Petersen graduated from San Francisco State University with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Finance, Banking, and Real Estate. He is a Certified Senior Advisor and is licensed by the California Department of Real Estate. Mr. Petersen is an active investor in both loans and real estate and owns investment property throughout the Bay Area.
Mr. Petersen is a 4th generation Bay Area resident and includes in his real estate portfolio the home his great-grandfather built in 1912. He enjoys regular hikes with his two dogs, backcountry camping, climbing, mountain biking and motorcycles.
Gregory D Bronshvag, Compliance Officer
As Compliance Officer, Mr. Bronshvag is responsible for servicing the company's loan portfolio and its accounting. He also assists with Borrower and Lender compliance and underwriting.
Mr. Bronshvag graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics and earned his MBA in 2006 from Keller Graduate School of Management. Prior to joining Sequoia, he was Vice President of Operations and Corporate Secretary at a publicly traded mortgage REIT performing similar duties.
Mr. Bronshvag enjoys spending time at home with his family and working in the garden.
